24/52 - Stopped by a church nearby where my ancestors attended more than 150 years ago. Since the last time I was there they've added plaques and Confedrate flags to the graves of those who fought during the war. This is the headstone of a family member in one of the branches of our family tree. His birthday is two days after mine - different years of course.
23/52 - Yesterday was a windy and sometimes cloudy day on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but it's still always nice being there.
22/52 - I went to a few cemeteries today to photograph American flags placed on the graves of veterans for the Memorial Holiday. Sadly, I found very few. At one cemetery I saw just one and the cemetery in this shot had just three. I wish I had taken some flags with me to place on the graves of the forgotten. I wasn't too happy with the color version of this shot, so I added a texture to it and converted it to black & white.
